AWARE Worldwide is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization serving communities-at-large throughout Southeastern Virginia with quality comprehensive prevention education and services, and resources and referrals for long-term care, treatment/medication management of Chronic Illnesses/Disabilities/ HIV/AIDS since 2003.
We target uninsured, underinsured, and elderly men, women and families who are living with, or at risk of developing Chronic Illnesses/Disabilities/HIV/AIDS to link them to services and resources, and provide them with prevention education and counseling (if so desired) from qualified peer-educators.
We believe this is the most vulnerable population because they do not have access to, nor may not be aware of the resources and prevention strategies available to them to live a sustainable quality of life. We collaborate with local health departments, community health centers, and other community based organizations to make it happen.
We serve our clientele with the focus that “prevention is the best cure.” | |
